Biography

Alice Ripley is an actor, singer, songwriter, live performer, recording artist, and mixed media artist who was born in California "six years before we landed on the moon, seven weeks before the Beatles landed on the Ed Sullivan show, three weeks after John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and eleven days before Christmas," as she has put it. Ripley is known for her extensive work on Broadway, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock opera, Next to Normal, for which she earned the 2009 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She is also known for her work in television (#Girlboss; Outed) and film (Sugar!, for which she won three acting awards in 2016). Ripley was raised in various Ohio and Pennsylvania towns and attended college first at DePauw University (majoring in Vocal Performance), then Kent State University (graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre). Following college, she was active in community theatre in San Diego and subsequently received her Actor's Equity card at the La Jol
