Biography

Charles Maynes has been involved in the film sound business since 1994. He has been involved with 2 Academy Award Sound Editing Awards, "U-571" and "Letters From Iwo Jima" and won two Emmy awards for best sound editing for HBO's miniseries "The Pacific", and the History Channel's "Gettysburg" produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. Starting in 1994 at Universal Pictures, and under the supervision of Richard Legrand Jr, and Harry Snodgrass saw him involved in the sound tracks for Kevin Smith's "Mall Rats" and "Gold Diggers - The Secret of Bear Mountain"- Charles then was recruited by Stephen Hunter Flick for his new sound company Creative Cafe- Charles was mentored in film sound editing and design during this period by Warren Hamilton, Marvin Walowitz, David Yewdall and Flick himself- films Charles was involved in for design and editing during this time were Twister, Starship Troopers, From Dusk Til Dawn, Jackie Brown and many others- Charles left Creative Cafe in the late 1990's and worked
