Robin McCaffrey

Robin McCaffery played the part of Jeannie Grant in the Dr Finley series 4 episode 4 (1996) called 'A Simple Operation'. Jeannie was a lonely woman looking after her father who was blind. Dr Finlay had decided to take a walking holiday from his practice. He'd decided to take a naked bath in a small Loch and was disturbed by Jeannie Grant, the daughter of the local land owner. She said she was blind, so Dr Finlay, (played by David Rintoul (who also played Dr. Clive, Ship's Surgeon in a couple of episodes of the British drama Hornblower), stepped out of the Loch totally naked (though you only saw him from the back). It was while he was getting dressed that he realized that she had lied. A relationship developed over the rest of the program, that led to a reticent Dr Finlay being persuaded by Jeannie to carry out a cataract operation on her father in the home because he had refused to go into hospital for the procedure.
