Biography

Tim Blake Nelson trained at Brown University in classics and at Juilliard, later presenting his first play, Eye of God, in 1992 and The Grey Zone in 1996—both later adapted into films he directed. His work spans film, television, voice and stage. As an actor he features in projects by directors including Joel and Ethan Coen (O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), and he has participated in both mainstream and independent productions across mediums. He has directed feature films based on his own plays and screenplays, including O and Leaves of Grass. His television roles include the HBO limited series Watchmen. His recent work includes music-video co-direction and publication of a novel drawn from his experience in Hollywood.
