Biography

Scott Mosier is a Canadian-American film producer, holding dual citizenship. He is particularly known for his long-term association with film director Kevin Smith. He has produced most of Smith's early films. Mosier was born in Vancouver, Washington. His father John Mosier was a Canadian from Saskatchewan, but moved frequently between the state of Washington and British Columbia. The younger Mosier spend his early life in both areas. Mosier received his film education at the Vancouver Film School, where he met fellow college student Kevin Smith. He agreed to help Smith if he ever managed to direct a feature film. He was later recruited as the producer of Smith's debut film "Clerks" (1994). He also served as the film's sound editor, and film editor. He contributed to the film's budget. Following the first film's completion, Mosier helped secure financing for Kevin's next film: "Mallrats" (1995). Their third film, "Chasing Amy" (1997), was financed by the film studio Miramax.
