Biography

Anton Monsted is film music supervisor, music producer, and film producer based in Los Angeles. He started his film career as an assistant to the director Baz Luhrmann on the 1996 film adaptation of "William Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet", starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. In 1997, Luhrmann and Monsted collaborated under their music production pseudonym BLAM, releasing the compilation album "Something for Everybody" which included the surprise hit, "Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen)", also known as "The Sunscreen Song". The song was a radio phenomena around the world.Monsted's involvement in the music for "William Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet" and its soundtrack album, and the success of "Something for Everybody", led to him to the role of Music Supervisor and Executive Music Producer on Luhrmann's next film, "Moulin Rouge", released in 2001.
