Biography

He left drama school in 1980 with little ambition but an audition he did caught the eye of a director who offered him a part of playing Warren Mitchell's son in a West End play. but when Kevin said that he didn't have an Equity Card he was told to forget it but he pleaded and begged them to give him a chance which they did to keep him quite resulting him in been seen on the Friday and given the job on the Monday. The play Ducking Out ran for 7 months during which Warren taught him a lot. Next he was offered a tour in a play about a Manchester Grammar school and it was while he was in this in Cardiff that he was offered a part in Coronation Street. This meant an early morning train dash arrived at the studios to be told 'You're Curly Watts start on Sunday' He did a couple of episodes then went to Sheffield's Crucible Theatre to play the grave digger in Hamlet not knowing if he'd be invited back but his character of Curly caught on with fan mail pouring into the studios so he was quickly
