"Doing ensembles and shows is one thing, but being able to front a feature is totally different. You can be a great actor, and supertalented, but there's something about carrying a feature that's unique."
Known for his work in television and film, Michael B. Jordan began as a child actor with roles in "The Wire" (2002) and "All My Children" (2003-2006). He rose to fame playing Oscar Grant in Ryan Coogler's "Fruitvale Station" (2013). He continued his collaboration with Coogler in "Creed" (2015), reinventing the "Rocky" franchise as Adonis Creed, and later directing "Creed III" (2023).
His portrayal of Erik Killmonger in "Black Panther" (2018) was widely recognized for its depth and ideological complexity. Jordan also starred in “Chronicle” (2012), “That Awkward Moment” (2014), “Just Mercy” (2019), and “Without Remorse” (2021). Training without formal conservatory experience, he honed his craft through constant work and mentorship. His performances often combine internalized intensity with physicality, addressing themes of identity, injustice, and masculinity.
Named one of Time magazine's most influential people (2020), he also co-founded the Outlier Society, an organization advocating for inclusivity in the industry. Jordan has received multiple NAACP Image Awards and nominations for the Independent Spirit Award and Screen Actors Guild Award.
