Biography

Fedja van Huêt is one of the most diverse and celebrated stage and screen actors of his generation in the Netherlands. Before graduating from the Maastricht Theatre Academy, Mike van Diem cast him to play the lead in his Oscar winning film 'Character' (Best Foreign Language Film, 1998). Fedja was an ensemble member of Johan Simon's legendary Hollandia theatre company from 1996-2005. Hollandia toured throughout Europe and, in 2000, won the coveted European Prize New Theatrical Realities. From 2005-2013 he joined renowned Belgian director Ivo van Hove's Toneelgroep Amsterdam and starred in plays including Angels in America, Opening Night, Coriolanus, Platonov and MacBeth (Best Actor nomination). In 2013 he received the Mary Dresselhuys prize for his oeuvre and extraordinary accomplishments as a theatre actor. During these years, Fedja continued to work in film.
