Biography

Claudia Hoover's first film, METAMORPHOSIS: Man Into Woman, won the Filmmaker's Trophy at the Sundance Film Festival. The New York Times says this film "...subtly raises intriguing questions about the very definition of being a woman." It was years ahead of its time with regards to introducing transgender issues to mainstream audiences. Claudia Hoover directed the feature film GIDEON, starring Academy-Award winning actors Charlton Heston, Shelley Winters, Shirley Jones, and Emmy winner Carroll O'Connor. A film deemed "...very much worth watching...a heartwarming, heart-wrenching tear-jerker that should appeal to all ages." (Hollywood Reporter). Other feature directing credits include DOUBLE EXPOSURE with Ron Perlman. Ms. Hoover produced the feature film SKIN AND BONE for director Everett Lewis. In television, she was nominated for an EMMY Award for SURVIVOR 2: Australia. Ms. Hoover graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics.
