Biography

A native of South Australia, Phillip Lowe graduated from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 1995, where his credits included Into the Woods, Jonah, and The Bacchae. He made his film debut in 1996 in Thank God He Met Lizzie, then joined the original Australian production of Crazy For You. He then performed the role of a singing Nazi waiter in the Gordon/Frost production of Cabaret, directed by Richard Wherrett. In 1998/1999 Phillip appeared in the Sydney and Melbourne productions of Show Boat, understudying the roles of Frank and Steve. The following year he appeared in the Australian musical The Sunshine Club, for the Sydney Theatre Company. After a four year hiatus from the stage, Phillip marked his return to musicals in 2004 playing over a dozen characters in the Australian production of The Producers, including Mr Marks, Kevin, Jason Green, Stalin, Sergeant O'Brien, and on occasion, the lead role of Leopold Bloom.
