Sam Levinson is an American director, screenwriter and former actor. He began his career with acting roles in films directed by his father, including his debut in Toys (1992), before shifting his focus toward writing and directing. In 2011 he made his directorial debut with Another Happy Day, receiving the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Later he wrote and directed Assassination Nation (2018) and in 2020 created the television drama series Euphoria for HBO, consolidating his presence in television. Through this progression Levinson expanded his creative scope across film and television, developing a career grounded in multiple stages of audiovisual production.
