Chris Lebenzon began his career editing independent movies. Quickly, he graduated to bigger budget studio films, including Orion Picture's Wolfen (1981) and Universal Studio's Weird Science (1985) with director John Hughes and producer Joel Silver. Following his nomination for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for Top Gun (1986), he continued to collaborate with director Tony Scott and producer Jerry Bruckheimer: including Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), Days of Thunder (1990), Enemy of the State (1998), and Crimson Tide (1995) which he was also nominated for an Academy Award. Additionally, he edited over 15 films with Jerry Bruckheimer: this included Dominic Sena's Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000), Simon West's Con Air (1997), and Michael Bay's Armageddon (1998) and Pearl Harbor (2001). Since editing Batman Returns (1992) Chris has been an integral part of every Tim Burton film to date: including The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Big Fish (2003), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). Over their 25 year collaboration, Chris has won several awards: including the ACE Eddie for Sweeney Todd; The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) and Alice in Wonderland (2010). The films he has edited have grossed over 10 billion dollars worldwide.
