Biography

Kurt Koehler spent his childhood and teen years in Southern New Jersey. Then moved to NYC and attended AMDA and went on to Marymount Manhattan College earning his BFA in Acting and a Minor in Directing. Over the years Kurt has also been on stage with roles ranging from Danny Zuko in Grease, Leading Player in Pippin and Mark in A Chorus Line. In the summer of '92 he shared the stage at New London Barn Summer Stock in New Hampshire with actor Taye Diggs. His Los Angeles stage directing debut had critical acclaimed with his revival of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom in 1998. The LA Times called Koehler's direction and production "hilarious"! Years later in 2010 they reviewed his production of Women Behind Bars where he earned the title of "the Camp Specialist". The Los Angeles underground cult classic Chico's Angels, a Latino/Drag spoof of Charlie's Angels is the brain child of Koehler and his collaborator Oscar Quintero.
