Biography

With a rich history in show business, it was only natural for George Golden to follow in his families footsteps. His father was George Fuller Golden who was a well-known Vaudeville actor and his sisters were well known actors. Unlike his sister Olive Carey, George's career consisted of countless appearances as an extra and he rarely had credited. His big strapping appearance made him a natural candidate to appear in countless films as police officers and military personnel throughout the 1940s. With the coming of television, Golden faced a unique problem, his large size and stately appearance never really me meet with Hollywood's portrayal of a western cowboy. This led him to him finding steadier work dramas like Columbo, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., while still occasionally collecting a paycheck in various westerns.
