Daniel Giménez Cacho is a Spanish actor celebrated for his versatility and for helping to shape the new wave of Mexican cinema. The son of actors associated with La Barraca, the theatre company founded by Federico García Lorca, he moved to Mexico as a child and studied theatre at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He began his career on television with La hora marcada and gained international recognition with Guillermo del Toro’s Cronos (1993). With films such as Blancanieves, Zama, and Bardo, he solidified his prestige in Ibero-American cinema through collaborations with acclaimed directors. A seven-time Ariel Award winner, he has built a distinguished career across film, theatre, and television, and is regarded as one of the most respected actors in the region.
