Biography

Arrived in Plymouth in 1940 on the last boat to leave France from St Jean de Luz unable to speak English. After RADA and two years at the Old Vic he played in rep theatres around the country acting and directing. Since 1971 he directed well over 100 plays many of them touring. He's also a writer of plays and was a contributor to the BBC's That Was the Week That Was for which he received a Writer's Guild Award of Merit in 1963.
