Biography

She won a scholarship to the London School of Dramatic Art in 1950 then in 1952 joined a repertory company in Accrington as actor and assistant stage manager. She then did panto at Brighton and went on tour in the play 'One Way Traffic' and 'Love and Kisses'. She appeared in commercial television's first live play 'The Geranium' for Associated Rediffusion and in one of television's first daily serials, Sixpenny Corner (1955). Her cinema break was in the film I'm All Right Jack (1959) with Peter Sellers.
