Biography

Jerry Foster is perhaps best known as one-half of the infamous songwriting team of Foster & Rice, the most awarded songwriting team in the history of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Association International Hall of Fame and the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame. He had his own television show on WSAV-TV in Georgia and began his recording career as an artist in Houston, Texas, on Backbeat Records. He had his 30-minute country music show on KFVS-TV. The Foster and Rice team was signed to a publishing contract with Jack Clement and Bill Hall (Jack & Bill) where they became known as "The Song Factory" for their incredible string of hits. Jerry recorded for Mercury, Metromedia, SUN, Motown's Hitsville label, Monument and Cinnamon.
