Biography

An actor and writer, this native of Chester Pennsylvania is a graduate of Howard University's Department of Drama, earning a B.F.A. in 1977. He, along with his actress-wife Margaret Bynum Holtz, are the founding directors of the Real Life Theater Ministry in Harlem. Working in the mediums of theater, film and television, Mr. Holtz brings more than thirty years of experience in the professional arena. Among his acting credits are Jonin' (off- Broadway), America's Most Wanted (TV), Michael Jackson's Bad (music video), and Heavy (feature film). His writing credits include Black Codes from the Underground (a Lincoln Center Director's Lab production 1999), The Anansi X- 5000, Malcolm X... Unfinished Business, Look At Me (presented at The Women's Prayer Summit at Madison Square Garden), Trip This (presented at the Apollo Theater), A Christ Mass Story, and his newest work Granmma's Hands.
