Tiit Härm

Tiit Härm was born in Tallinn, Estonia (at that time the Soviet Union) in 1946. He began his studies in Tallinn State Ballet School in 1957 and continued his studies in St Petersburg Vaganova Ballet Academy. He finished his studies in 1966 and then he returned to Estonia to dance in the theatre "Estonia" (currently Estonian National Opera). His dancing career from 1966-1990 was very successful - he repeatedly performed in the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow, Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and he received an unique possibility (unique, as Soviet Russia was a closed society) to go on international tours. Tours took him to more than 90 countries. He was also one of the founders and dancers of a Russian choreography ensemble "Young Ballet". He also performed in many ballet films. In 1985 he graduated from the Moscow Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (former GITIS) and received a diploma in choreography.
