Thomas Hardmeier

Thomas was born in Zurich, Switzerland. From 1986 until 1994, he worked as a First Assistant Camera. Since 1994 he works as a cinematographer mostly in France and internationally, in dramas and in commercials.He speaks French, German, and English, and has Swiss and French Citizenship. Lives in Geneva, Switzerland and Paris, France. Since 2006 he's a member of AFC (French Society of Cinematographers). Since 2011 he's a member of the French Cesar's Academy and since 2014 of the EFA (European Film Academy). In 2014 he was member of the jury "Director's Debut" at Camerimage International Filmfestival. He won in 2014 the French Cesar's Award for Best Cinematography and at Camerimage 2014 Best 3D Feature Film Award for "The Young and Prodigious T.S.Spivet", directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. In 2015 he was again nominated for the French Cesar's Award for Best Cinematography for the movie "Yves Saint Laurent", directed by Jalil Lespert.
