Biography

Marc Handler is an American producer, writer, voice director, and story editor best known for his work on Cowboy Bebop, Astro Boy, FLCL, Stitch & Ai, and Voltron. He is a pioneer in bringing anime to Western audiences, and has worked as a creative executive for Sony, Japan and an executive producer for Disney, China. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Handler earned two Masters degrees from the University of Southern California in directing theatre and writing for film and television. He wrote original episodes for American animation series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Denver the Last Dinosaur, and became involved in the first major wave of imported anime, writing English language adaptations for Voltron and Transformers, then later for Cowboy Bebop, Fooly Cooly, Ghost in the Shell, and Steamboy. He also worked on Chinese, Korean, and European projects for companies such as CCTV, UYoung, BRB, and Sunwoo; voice directed Stephen Chow for the English dub of Shaolin
