Biography

Tim Guinee was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Illinois and Texas. As a teenager, he graduated from the Houston High School for Performing Arts. He then attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts (where he eventually received an honorary doctorate). He made his feature film debut as an actor 3 months after graduating from college in James Clavell's Tai Pan, the first western film made in mainland China. Tim's theater credits include Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia at Lincoln Center, Twelfth Night and Richard II (directed by Joe Papp) at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Death of A Buick at MTC, Horton Foote's The Prisoner's Song and The One Armed Man at the Ensemble Studio, Displaced Persons at the Workhouse, Andy & Claire at the Westbank (with John Spencer) and Human Error at the Atlantic. Regional performances include Alan Strang in Equus, Krapp in Samuel Beckett's Krapps Last Tape, Trofimov in The Cherry Orchar
