Biography

Alycia was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her mother is an artist and teacher. Her father, Ron Grant, is an Emmy nominated film and television composer, and an Acadamy award winning technical innovator. She is third generation Los Angeles, coming from a long line of artists, costume designers, studio musicians, and LIFE magazine photographer, Alan Grant, her grandfather. She got her first role at the age of 4, playing Holly Hunter's daughter in the TV movie Roe Vs. Wade. Her parents wanted to give her time to fall into a profession of her own choosing, and she took a break from TV and film to study and develop. She continued to perform in school plays (and in her parent's living room) on a regular basis. Alycia attended Alexander Hamilton High School Music Academy, where she majored in Drama and Voice. At the music academy, she also attended AP art studio, and other upper college level courses. She majored in Theater Arts at UCSC, but left school early and returned home to Los Angele
