Biography

Murphy Cross, a 2007 Tony Award-Winning Producer/Director/Co-Creator of the multi-award winning "Jay Johnson: The Two and Only", was born June 22, 1950 in Havre de Grace, MD. She studied dance with Bobbi Smith and holds a BFA in Dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After performing on Broadway (1970's and '80's) in "Bubbling Brown Sugar", Pal Joey", "Division Street" and the original production of "A Chorus Line", she co-starred with Lee Remick in "Torn Between Two Lovers" and guest starred on many other television shows including Cheers (1982), Night Court (1984), and a celebrated two part episode of Taxi (1978) playing Louie's blind blind-date. She is also known for her film characterizations in Annie (1982), Perfect (1985), and Victim of Love (1991).
