Biography

Jim Corr is a member of the Irish pop/rock/Celtic musical group The Corrs. The other band members are his sisters Sharon Corr, Caroline Corr and Andrea Corr. The Corrs' parents Gerry Corr and Jean Corr were musicians who strongly encouraged each of their children to pursue music. Jim learned the piano and the guitar from an early age. By age 15, he began performing with his parents in Dundalk's bars and clubs, and he later played with the Irish traditional singer Dolores Keane. Jim briefly attended music college. Commenting on his early life growing up with his sisters, Sky Magazine has written that Jim has "the saintly resignation of a man who's experienced two decades' worth of never being able to get into the bathroom." In The Corrs band, Jim plays electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, the accordion, and sings backing vocals.
