Joel Edgerton

Joel Edgerton began his artistic formation after graduating from secondary school in Sydney, enrolling at the University of Western Sydney’s drama program, and gaining stage experience with companies such as Sydney Theatre Company and Bell Shakespeare. Transitioning from theatre to screen in the mid-1990s, he moved into television and film. Over time, Edgerton expanded his roles beyond acting: he became a screenwriter, producer and director. In that capacity, he has written, produced and directed feature films, while maintaining acting work in film, television and voice acting. He has collaborated with his brother, Nash Edgerton, within their film collective Blue-Tongue Films, jointly developing film projects.
