Biography

This Slavic brunette was born in Belgrade, Serbia. Dunya emigrated with her parents from former Yugoslavia when she was 11 years old. After a year in Vienna, Austria, she joined her parents in Northern California at age 12. Her father, Bratislav Djordjevic, was a TV and documentary director. Her mother Ksenija Djordjevic, a retired English Literature professor, is a published author of "Seeds of Neoplanta" (2003). Dunya attended the American International Schools in Belgrade and Vienna. She studied premed at the University of California, Santa Cruz, alongside Film and Theatre. She was in the first small group of actors who pioneered the UCSC graduate program in Film and Theatre Arts. Memorable work was ensemble play: Anthony Minghella's "Whale Music" about five women re-uniting one summer, as well as, Emily Mann's "Still Life," done under Audrey Stanley's direction, about a Vietnam Vet returning home.
