Biography

Hopwood DePree's life became the focus of national UK media attention when he moved from Hollywood, CA to Manchester, England, to rescue his family's 600-year-old ancestral home known as 'Hopwood Hall'. His adventures at the enormous 50,000 square foot, 60-room dilapidated mansion are the subject of a comedic documentary and social media vlogs on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram -- as well as airing in part on BBC. He was born in Holland, Michigan, and graduated from The University of Southern California. A-list casting director Mali Finn saw Hopwood in a U.S.C. play and helped him get his first agent and paying role (as seen in the cult fave "Rhinoskin"). A few years later, Academy Award nominated filmmaker Whit Stillman saw Hopwood's critically acclaimed performance in the award winning comedy "The Last Big Attraction" and introduced him to a producer who got Hopwood a deal with Warner Bros. to create and star in his own TV show.
