Biography

Layla Alexander was born and raised in Europe and speaks fluent English, Russian, German and French. After the fall of the Berlin Wall she began her career with a starring role in the acclaimed German TV series Dr. Specht. Shortly after, she got a lead role in the feature film Novalis. Layla wrote and directed her first play Odyssey of the Mind which won the German national theater competition. She studied with the Royal Shakespeare Company in London, Theatre En Act in Paris, Juilliard and Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York. Layla honed her craft on stage in numerous New York theater productions such as Don Juan at Circle in the Square Theatre. She worked in independent films such as Hal Hartley's The Book of Life and the Oscar nominated short Speed for Thespians as well as main stream films such as Sleepy Hollow and Serendipity.
