Biography

“I was a wild, mischievous kid and I had a tremendous imagination. Any experience I had, I'd try to reenact it. I always had an actor within me.” Adrien attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts in New York. At thirteen years old he had his theater debut in off Broadway plays and a TV film called “Home at Last” (1988). Motivated by his passion for acting he did a casting and obtained his first big role in the movie “New York Stories” (1989). In spite of his later work with Spike Lee and Barry Levinson among other great films, he never became the star many expected he would become until Roman Polanski called on him to play a celebrated Jewish pianist in Nazi-occupied Warsaw in the film “The Pianist” (2002), from which he won the Oscar for Best Actor, becoming the youngest actor to achieve it. He continue to have a very prolific career acting for well known directors such as Woody Allen and Wes Anderson as well as some more mainstream productions and independent short films.
