Biography

“I’m used to being efficient and a guy that can do more than the average guy can.” Although he comes from a show business family, Jason was initially interested in sports. He did professional swimming, martial arts and soccer before turning to the arts, and it was during a training session that a talent recruiter spotted him and called him to modeling. His neat and serious appearance in addition to his combat skills and physical prowess opened his way in the world of cinema, usually playing villains or threats, with prominent roles in films such as Snatch, Furious 7 and Revolver. In addition, like Tom Cruise, he performs his own action scenes, without stuntmen.

A FRESH AND DIFFERENT PROPOSAL FOR ITS TIME

Over the years I have seen many movies, but there are some that stay with you in a special way, not only for the story they tell, but for what they meant at the time you saw them. For me, “Cellular” is one of those movies that marked a before and after in my way of enjoying action and suspense films. It is a film that, to this day, I keep with great affection in my memory, and that without a doubt

Statham’s Signature Action Flicks

Why We Keep Coming Back for More??? Let’s cut to the chase: If you’re clicking on A Working Man expecting Citizen Kane levels of storytelling, you’re either a masochist or a Statham stan. Spoiler: I’m the latter. Jason Statham’s latest “retired badass forced back into violence” romp is exactly what you think it is—and that’s the point. The man has perfected a formula so reliable it’s practically a

Jason Statham Takes On Crime Again in Chicago

In A Working Man, which hit theaters in late March, Jason Statham sticks to his tried-and-true formula of playing a simple, brutal character who lives under a false identity, works hard, gets dragged into conflicts, and ultimately dishes out justice. His workplace this time? Chicago—the crime genre’s favorite urban jungle. His enemies? Russian gangsters—this genre’s most stereotyped villains. Post

"Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre": More Comedy Than Action

Guy Ritchie has undoubtedly established himself as a successful commercial director, but his track record could be better. While he has delivered solid hits like "Sherlock Holmes" (2009), "Aladdin" (2019), and "The Gentlemen" (2019), he's also been behind lackluster films like "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" (2017) and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (2015). "Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre" (2023)

"Trigger Warning": The Hollywood Comeback of Business Mogul Jessica Alba

Empire magazine's review of "Trigger Warning" (2024) begins with a critique, questioning how the film's title is irrelevant to its content. Yet, this oddity is just the tip of the iceberg for Netflix's new movie, "Trigger Warning." The most intriguing aspect is why Jessica Alba, who established her business empire a decade ago, returned to Hollywood for a physically demanding role. Jessica Alba st

"Under Paris": A Gift for the Paris Olympics

When I first saw the title of Netflix's "Under Paris" (2024), I assumed it was a murder thriller. However, it turned out to be a shark action thriller! Overall, this film stands out among shark movies. With countless shark-themed films in the past, such as "Shark Bait" (2022) and Jason Statham's "The Meg" (2018), this one is directed by Xavier Gens, who has a penchant for horror and thriller eleme

Guy Ritchie’s Challenge of Three Different Movie Genres in ‘The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare’

Just a year after "The Covenant," director Guy Ritchie returns with his latest film, "The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare." Is it a spy thriller, a heist movie, or a war epic? "The Covenant" marked his first foray into war films. At the same time, he dabbled in espionage with "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre," making "The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare" seem li
