Biography

Katherine Haber MBE was born in 1944 in London, England. She is best known for her work as Production Executive on Blade Runner (1982) as well as her collaboration with Sam Peckinpah on 8 of his films, including Straw Dogs, The Getaway, Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid and Cross of Iron. She is a Founding Member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles and served on the Board for 23 years, co-founding the Community Education and Outreach Committee, and served on the BAFTA Council for 4 years. In 2011 she was awarded Honorary Doctor of Arts at the University of Bedfordshire in recognition of her career in the film industry and her contribution to countering homelessness, crime prevention and transformational education through the Arts. In 2012 she was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E) for services to the community in Los Angeles. By Katherine Haber
