Biography

“I have to tell you, you can't have an ego when you're an actor. A lot of actors have them, but in reality most of those people are just sensitive artists dying for a hug and a compliment.” American actor recognized for his film debut in the cult classic The Goonies (1985). Son of renowned actor and activist James Brolin, his interest in acting came after he took an improvisation class in high school. After The Goonies, Brolin participated in Thrashin' (1986), but not being satisfied with his performance, he focused on television for the following years. In the mid-nineties, Brolin returned to the big screen and appeared in a series of high-profile films, although his status remained elusive. These included Flirting with Disaster (1996), Mimic (1997), and Nightwatch (1997). He later starred opposite Kevin Bacon in Hollow Man (2000), about a group of scientists who test an invisibility formula on a colleague. Also in 2000, Brolin made his Broadway debut in a production of Sam Shepard's True West. Brolin achieved stardom in 2007 with three films: Planet Terror, American Gangster, and No Country for Old Men (an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel). The latter was a commercial and critical success, and Brolin was especially acclaimed for his performance. This helped him to participate in other important projects that demonstrated his acting versatility such as in W (2008), Milk (2008) for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, True Grith (2010), Inherent Vice (2014), Sicario (2015) and its sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Deadpool 2 (2018), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Wolverine meets Batman: The logical next step

Six years ago, the MCU culminated 11 years of stories by reuniting almost all of the characters we've met in the 21 films that had come out, in an event never seen before in cinema. Now in 2026 and 2027, seeking to surpass themselves, we will not only have the characters that we have seen in the 6 phases of the universe, but also characters from films older than the MCU, such as the X-Men of the 2000s. But what happens next? Once you've assembled all your superhero teams and their versions from

Serena Cuoghi: I like how you present this possible evolution of superhero cinema. The idea of a crossover between Marvel and DC would be amazing, especially if they take into account the concept of the first movie, with Onslaught as the catalyst and the interaction between heroes from both universes. The vision of the second part, with amalgamated characters, gives it an unexpected and exciting twist that could help them reconnect with audiences after all the missteps both universes have had with their latest movies. Hopefully, the studios will take a risk on something like this!

Why Dune Part Two is The Best Picture of 2024

I thought I wouldn’t have to, but here we go… I will start saying this: I am not a Sci-Fi guy. While I do respect the Star Wars franchise, withstand massive admiration for Lord of The Rings, and certainly appreciative of Harry Potter’s precision; I’ve never been akin to these type of movies (with the exception of The Empire Strikes Back ,1980 and Return of The Jedi, 1983). All of this to say that I was taken to the theatre involuntarily and without really knowing what to expect. Little did I kno

Eli Fonseca Films: PREACH! I love this technical breakdown, and you have used vivid language to get your point across. The transition into talking about the sound design was seamless. I would love to have heard you praise the plot more and break down some of those narrative elements. Overall, you have made your stance clear and I can feel the passion you have for this movie. It is no doubt a masterpiece!

"Dune: Part Two": Trailer Breakdown

The new trailer for "Dune: Part Two" unveils some crucial scenes and events from the book. Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel is too vast to fit into a single film, prompting Denis Villeneuve to split it into two parts. "Dune" focuses on how House Atreides is betrayed and how Paul Atreides (portrayed by Timothée Chalamet) begins his quest for liberation on Arrakis with the help of the Fremen. Following Paul and his mother, Lady Jessica (played by Rebecca Ferguson), joining the Fremen, "Dune: Part Two"

Deadpool 2: Self-deprecation isn't an Excuse For Lacking Originality

"Deadpool 2" can be likened to a skilled comedian performing improvisation. While on stage, a majority of the jokes hit the mark, delivering laughter, with some being exceptionally funny. However, there are a few that might not quite land as successfully. Possibly, the hurried nature of its production might be a factor—considering the first movie had almost a decade of development while the second was pushed out in a mere two or three years. It could also be due to limited funding, with $110 mil

No Country for Old Men: A Wasteland Story Filled with the Smell of Death.

At the 80th Academy Awards, No Country for Old Men, directed by the Coen Brothers, became the biggest winner, winning four awards for Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role. It marks the recognition of independent filmmakers by the mainstream American film industry, at least affirming their unconventional independent spirit, which is a good thing. Unlike the use of violent elements in popular commercial films, violence in Coen Brothers' films i
