Biography

Sean Bean is an English actor trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, making his professional debut in 1983 with Romeo and Juliet at The Watermill Theatre. Retaining his Yorkshire accent, he first gained recognition in the ITV series Sharpe. He achieved international visibility as Boromir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and later as Ned Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Beyond film and television, Bean has worked extensively in voice acting for video games and animation. In 2022, he received the BAFTA Award for Best Actor for his performance in the BBC drama Time.
