Daniel Day-Lewis

“Life comes first. What I see in the characters, I first try to see in life.” He is a dedicated and exclusive actor who is dedicated to choosing particularly which films he is interested in working on. He had a traditional training at Bristol Old Vic but is considered a method actor, involving a deep devotion and research to the characters he plays. During the 80's he varied between film and theater, being a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1985 he established himself as a first-rate actor after his role in James Ivory's "Room with a View" and, in the following years, he continued to delight with his meticulous performances that earned him three Oscars, four BAFTAs, three SAGs and two Golden Globes. In 2012 TIME magazine named him "the greatest actor of all time" and in 2014 he was made a Knight by Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to the performing arts.
