Steve Buscemi

Biography

"I thought I could never make movies. That was for serious actors." Steve Buscemi is an actor, a producer, and a director of film and television who has participated in more than a hundred films and series, often playing eccentric, criminal, and comic characters. He is known for memorable successes, but he is also one of the main figures in American independent cinema. Buscemi began his acting studies at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, where he already created his own plays. At night, he used to perform in live comedy clubs. Years later, his film career took off with Parting Glances (1986). Mostly known for his supporting roles in films such as Scorsese's New York Stories (1989), Barton Fink (1991), Fargo (1996), and The Big Lebowski (1998) by the Coen brothers, Buscemi established himself as a significant actor with Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992). He has won prestigious awards such as Golden Globes, SAGs, Emmys, among others; his unique style gave him a place in the entertainment industry.

Airheads is the funniest critic of the musical industry ever conceived by cinema

A wildly irreverent Brendan Fraser. A peak-era Steve Buscemi, riding high on his indie cred. And a fresh-faced Adam Sandler, still warming up as comedy’s next big thing. Throw them all together, crank up some ‘90s hard rock vibes, and toss in a plot involving music, crime, and…anti-capitalism? That’s Airheads - one of the funniest, most criminally underrated comedies not just in the filmographies of its leads, but in that of director Michael Lehmann himself - best known as the guy behind Heather

The Studio: Hollywood Insiders Telling It Like It Is

Hollywood mocking itself is nothing new. This self-assurance, however, often permeates so-called self-critical Hollywood fil

“"The Incredible Burt Wonderstone: A magic show that vanished... from popular taste."

I’ve loved the world of magic and illusion ever since I was a kid watching David Blaine’s specials, and that passion came back in my adult years with Criss Angel’s Mindfreak. So, as a fan and practitioner of magic, I make it a point to watch every movie that references it and this one was a must. Watching this film felt like stumbling upon a lost VHS in the back of a video store: absurd, delicious, and completely ignored by the algorithm of fame. The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013) isn’t just

What would happen if I was a film critic with The Dude's philosophy?

Just for a moment, imagine a world where film critics don't watch any film previous, videos with possible huge spoilers nor read articles about movie premieres. Moreover, imagine that those dedicated to this micro-universe would only limit their jobs to watching a movie solely knowing the crucial information beforehand and with the movie poster as their only visual reference. Well, this world existed many years before the digital and media revolution, and I dare to say that I'm sure it was a far
