Parker Posey

Parker Posey is an American actress whose work spans independent cinema, studio films, and television. After studying drama at the State University of New York at Purchase, she began performing in off-Broadway and independent projects before entering film in the early 1990s. In 1997, Time named her “Queen of the Indies.” She has frequently collaborated with Christopher Guest in his mockumentary films and has moved fluidly between comedies and dramas. On television, she has held leading roles in Lost in Space, The Staircase, and The White Lotus. In 2018, she published You’re on an Airplane: A Self-Mythologizing Memoir. Her work has earned nominations for a Golden Globe, two Primetime Emmys, and an Independent Spirit Award.
