Initially known as Marky Mark from the rap group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, he transitioned to fame as a Calvin Klein model. Wahlberg's early life was troubled, involving crime and substance abuse. His music career, highlighted by hits like "Good Vibrations," was overshadowed by his modeling work. Wahlberg shifted to acting with a small role in Renaissance Man (1994) and gained acclaim for his performance in Boogie Nights (1997). He became known for versatile roles in films such as Three Kings (1999), The Perfect Storm (2000), and The Italian Job (2003). Notably, his role in The Departed (2006) earned him an Academy Award nomination. He continued his success with films like Ted (2012), Lone Survivor (2013), and the Transformers series. Wahlberg faced controversy for his higher salary in All the Money in the World (2017) compared to co-star Michelle Williams, but he later donated the amount to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund.
