Rosie Perez entered entertainment through dance, beginning as a featured performer on the television program Soul Train after relocating to Los Angeles and leaving college, which marked her shift from formal study to professional performance and on-set work. She expanded into choreography, creating and directing movement sequences for music videos and for the dancers on the sketch comedy series In Living Color. Perez’s transition to acting came when a director cast her in a scripted film role, launching sustained screen work in television and cinema. Her work includes voice recording for animated projects and stage performance with Broadway companies. She has also undertaken producing roles on screen projects.
