Melanie Lynskey

Melanie Lynskey began her artistic formation in New Zealand, participating in school plays at New Plymouth Girls’ High School. After high school she enrolled in English literature studies at Victoria University of Wellington but left after a year and a half to focus on acting. Her early screen work started with a director contact for an independent project followed by roles in both independent and larger-scale projects. Lynskey’s working methods include auditioning for diverse character types, mastering American accents, and collaborating with directors, writers, and agents who have supported transitions across media. Her media include independent and studio film, television series, voice work, and live-format productions.
