Biography

Jean-Stéphane Bron graduated from the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Lausanne (ECAL). After Connu de nos services (1997) and The Way I Look at You - Five Stories of Driving School (1999), nominated for the European Film Award and having won at numerous international festivals, in 2003 he directed Mais im Bundeshuus: le génie helvétique (2003), among the biggest Swiss box office successes. His 2006 debut fiction film, Mon frère se marie (2006), would later be optioned by Hollywood for an unlikely remake. In 2010, Cleveland Versus Wall Street (2010), a film that recreates a fictional trial between evicted Clevelanders and bankers blamed for the financial crisis of 2007-2010, was presented at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Directors' Fortnight.
