Biography

Mickey Theis is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. He has worked as an actor and musician. Theis was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He attended Denver School of the Arts, a local public arts high school. In 2006, he moved to New York City, where he enrolled at Eugene Lang College, the liberal arts division of The New School. In 2011, Theis was accepted into the MFA program at the Yale School of Drama. While a student at Yale, he made his theatrical debut in Hamlet (Yale Repertory Theatre), which featured Paul Giamatti in the title role. Upon graduation, Theis was the recipient of the Oliver Thorndike Award, an honor granted to the student who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation, fellowship, and devotion to the theater. Theis has since appeared in Off-Broadway plays, including the world premieres of Posterity (Atlantic Theater Company), Desire (The Acting Company), and Among the Dead (Ma-Yi Theater Company).
