Reid McGowan

Reid was born at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. He has two older brothers and a younger sister. His Father, Ian McGowan, was a Commercial Property Valuer and his Mother, Jan McGowan, was a Garden Designer. They divorced when Reid was seven years old, on a family holiday. At the age of four, his Mother started taking him to Gymnastics classes. It proved an excellent way to release his mischievous energy and he began to compete at a young age. Throughout junior and high school, Reid was the class clown and was continually getting in trouble. At high school alone he amounted over 100 detentions, at Mount Albert Grammar School. After high school, he took a year to focus on his gymnastics career. It paid off, with Reid being selected for the New Zealand Gymnastics Team. He represented New Zealand at multiple international championships - including the World Championships & Commonwealth Games. Whilst in the NZ Team, Reid started studying a bachelor of commerce at the Univers
