Biography

Susan Ruth is an American actress, comedian, songwriter, podcaster, writer and abstract painter. Ruth began her career as an award-winning performing songwriter. She has released several critically acclaimed albums and has written songs for artists (Reba McEntire, Lonestar, Erdem Kinay...) and film/t.v. (Road Rules, Real World, Life on the Line...). She studied improv and sketch comedy at The Second City (Hollywood), in the Conservatory Program. She created and hosts the award-winning Hey Human podcast and is an accomplished abstract painter. Ruth is daughter to Dr. Nancy Robkin, an archaeologist, illustrator and editor and Dr. Maurice Robkin, a scientist and writer. Ruth's third cousins are Academy award-nominated actor Chester Morris (1901 - 1970) and actress Dorothy Lamour (1914 - 1996) and she is the third-generation grandniece of 19th - early-20th century painter Carl Gutherz (1844 - 1907), considered one of the "fathers of the American Symbolist" movement.
