Bill Blackwood

Bill was born at home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire to a coal miner father and a mill worker mother in 1960. Aged 10 he was fortunate to meet Frances Cox a very accomplished character actor who taught him drama at school but also taught him the discipline required by an actor and the way to build a character. He won a scholarship to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in 1974, one of the finest in the Country. Having completed A levels he attended St John's College, York In 1982 on the cusp of booking his first BBC role he left the world of performance to join the Police Service. After twenty fabulous years he was medically retired and went on to work on a number of police related projects around the Country as a member of police staff. He returned to acting in 2015. Having completed work on a large number of independant productions his first break was a guest role in series one of SkyOnes Bulletproof quickly followed by guest roles in a number of well known TV series.
