Biography

Joey was born in Houston, Texas but New Orleans has always been his home. He started his career in theater at the age of 14. He fronted a rock band all through high school. After graduation from high school in New Orleans he took a year off from his studies. Luck followed Joey; he went to audition for the British American Theatre but went into the wrong room. Joey went in for an audition for The College of Santa Fe and received a scholarship to the Greer Garson Theater at CSF. After a year he returned to New Orleans. He worked with his father and started The Bonaparte Dinner Theater which later became the Bayou Dinner Theater. Interested in comedy, he honed his comedic chops at late night comedy night theatre he founded with Maureen Brennan McConnell, Jedda Jones, and Alan Donnes, who later became the President of National Lampoon. He also, cut his entertainment teeth on World Famous Bourbon Street. Back in 1995 he began to secure roles in Interview with a Vampire and in 2004 in Ray. H
