Julian Parker

Julian is an actor, writer, and producer and a south side of Chicago native. He is currently a recurring co-star on The Chi. He can also be seen on Chicago P.D. (2014) and Chicago Fire (2017). Most recently, he starred in Antoinette Nwandu's world premiere, Pass Over, at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago (2017), directed by Danya Taymor. Months later, it was picked up as an independent film project, produced and directed by Spike Lee, and was selected for the Sundance Film Festival (2018). He earned his start in Chicago theatre, where he was first seen performing his work with Steppenwolf Theatre, Writers', Oracle Productions, Jackalope, Northlight, and American Theatre. He is an ensemble member and co-founder of Definition Theatre Company: which is a Chicago-based, non-profit theatre company. He is a Joseph Jefferson Award recipient for Best Actor in a Principal Play (The Hairy Ape). He has also received a Black Theatre Alliance Award for Best Actor in an Ensemble (Pass Over).
