Biography

From an early age Brian Landis was drawn to school and community theatre where he was immersed in improvisation, dramatic and comedic acting. While he loved growing up in rural Virginia, city living called and in the early 1990s, he attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. While struggling to find his academic calling, he flourished fronting noise rock bands, experimenting with performance art and making films with friends. After eight years, for a much needed change, he moved to San Diego, California. There, he continued writing music and dabbled in small theatre productions, but also fell in love with climbing mountains in the Sierras, camping in the desert and trail running the endless canyons. Returning to Richmond in the 2006 refocused his love of performance and he began writing and directing his own films (Kill Jar, Song of the Common Loon) while acting in roles opposite Cynthia Erivo in "Harriet", Jim Gaffigan in "American Dreamer", and Alfre Woodard in
